PC AutoCue is a simple application, originally designed for reading text while recording a video tutorial. However, you can find more purposes for this tool, such as putting together a text presentation that you can read in front of an audience.

In order to run the setup pack, make sure you have administrator privileges. After a brief installation procedure, you are welcomed by a standard interface with a very intuitive layout.

Since PC AutoCue's features are limited, even users with no experience in software applications can seamlessly work with this tool.

So, all you have to do is bring up the Edit Autocue screen and write text manually or by pasting it from the Clipboard. Unfortunately, the app does not allow you to import an external file, such as TXT or DOC, in order to ease the task.

The spacing between lines is important if you want to synchronize the text with a video presentation, for instance. The speed can be set between Normal, Slow and Slower, but you cannot accurately adjust it. Another downside of PC AutoCue is that it doesn't give you the possibility of inserting video presentations or other similar files, so that you could adapt the text to them.

In addition, you can reset the autocue or stop the text scrolling (it is automatically set on loop mode). The straightforward tool has a good response time and requires a very low amount of CPU and system memory, so it does not interfere with the runtime or active processes. It would had been a welcomed feature if the app had allowed users to at least save the project to file or turn it into an executable file. We must also take into account the fact that PC AutoCue has not been updated for a long time.
